Terms & Conditions

At DanceIM, we are committed to providing exceptional dance education and maintaining a high standard of professionalism, as well as providing a safe, friendly and welcoming dance community.

Our cancellation policy and other terms and conditions are designed to ensure fairness and accountability for both our students and our teachers, as well as to create a warm and vibrant school environment. Please read the following policies, terms and conditions carefully before enrolling in any of our offerings. By buying, enrolling or attending any of DanceIM’s services, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions below as well as for any future purchases.

Course Enrolment, Cancellation & Transfer Policy

1. Enrollment:

1.1. All registrations are subject to availability and are on a first-come, first-served basis. DanceIM is not responsible for any missed opportunities to attend classes, choreography courses etc, should there be no more places available at the time of booking.

1.2. Prerequisites: Classes often have pre-requisites and suitability is up to the discretion of the teachers. Numbers are restricted and we do our best to balance ratios of leads and followers.

1.3. Payments: Full payment for the course must be received prior to the course start date to guarantee your spot in the class. In some exceptional circumstances (with case by case approval by directors) part payment (50%) will be accepted assuming the full course is paid before halfway through the course.

1.4. Enrollments in a course are for the full (usually 5-6 weeks) of the course. Enrolments in multiple courses (within a block) have the benefit of discounts. There may be possibilities of partial enrollments or casual classes where travel or work commitments prevent attendance. These are offered at the discretion of the director due to the impact on numbers and the learning of those attending the full course. See below for offerings.

2. Early Cancellations and Refunds (Before the course or event starts):

All DanceIM Products and Services are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please see ‘Section 3.2 -  Illness, Injury or extenuating circumstances’ section for details on how to cancel your course if eligible.

2.1. Postponement by Student:

If a student wishes to postpone their enrollment before the course start date, they must notify us in writing at least 48 hours before the course start date. (Note this only applies to courses not bootcamps or workshops)

If the postpone notice is received within the specified period, the enrolment will be transferred to a future course of the same value. (In the case of a shorter course - eg 5 week course, the difference will be refunded minus a $10 administration fee). The new course must be within the calendar year.

2.2. Cancellation or changes by Dance School:

DanceIM reserves the right to modify course schedules, instructors, or content if necessary. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled students in advance.

In the unlikely event that DanceIM must cancel a course registered students will be offered a full refund.

2.3 Transfering your enrollment to another student (Not applicable for 5-6 week courses).

You can transfer your Boot Camp, workshop or party enrolment to another student if they are at a suitable level to attend up to 48 hours prior.

Transfer requests are subject to availability, suitability and DanceIM's discretion.

2.4 Transfers to another course or level:

Requests for transferring to a different course or transferring your enrollment to another participant must be submitted and approved in writing at least 2 days before the course start date.

Level or course changes are possible after the first class (only) if necessary and if suitable (subject to teacher approval). There may be a fee if this results in the student attending an additional class.

3. Late Cancellations and Refunds (after the offering has commenced)

3.1. Discontinuation During the Course:

If a student wishes to discontinue the course after it has started, no refunds will be provided for the remaining classes.

3.2.  Illness, Injury or other Exceptional Circumstance:

If a student is unable to attend the course for more than 2 weeks due to medical or other exceptional circumstances, credit for a future course (within the year) or refund may be available.

This requires a medical certificate or other proof of circumstance and is up to DanceIM director's discretion. Written application is required.

3.3. Missed Classes:

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, leading to missed classes. However, DanceIM is not responsible for refunding or making up missed classes.

We have video’s available of each class -  we strongly encourage students to watch the videos to catch up on any missed content prior to the next class.

3.4. Makeup Classes:

Makeup classes are available for missed classes if there is another suitable class within the block. This is subject to place availability and instructor approval. (For courses only, not available for bootcamps). This must be completed within the same block the student is enrolled in. Any outstanding class credits are lost after the end of the course block.

4. Specific conditions for other (non-course) offerings:

5. Partial Enrollments & Casual Classes

5.1 We understand that work commitments, travel and other life can get in the way of being able to complete full 6 - week blocks. In some circumstances we can offer partial enrolments. Note this does impact multiple course discounts, and is determined on a case by case bases. These options are not guaranteed for all offerings.

5.2 Partial enrolments & Class passes

1-2 weeks: If you can only attend 1-2 weeks of the course we encourage you to attend at our Casual rate of $30 (assuming you are at a level suitable to manage missed course content). (See 5.5)

3-4 weeks: You can use our “class pass” option to attend for 3-4 weeks:

As our courses already have built in discounts, if you are attending 5 weeks you will enrol in the full course. We encourage you to do a make-up class for  your 6th class (where suitable)

As Level 1 has no make-up class available, we are able to offer pre-payment of 2-5 classes at the $25 rate.

5.3 Class Passes: Where offered (not to be used for Choreo courses)

All classes must be used within one block. Any unused classes will be forfeited after the block has finished. 4 classes $99, 6 classes $149, 8  classes $199, 10 classes $249, 12 classes $289.

5.4 Casual Classes

Non-Students: Casual classes are $30 for 1 class, $45 for 2 classes in 1 night, $55 for 3 classes in one night.

Current students: As a currently enrolled student who would like to do an extra class on a casual basis the rate is $25 per class, $40 for 2 classes in 1 night, $55 for 3 classes in one night. (If suitable)

You must have prior approval (or have completed that level previously) in order to attend casually. See 5.5. This is to ensure suitability of a student's skill level for the class content.

6. Conditions of casual and partial enrolments

Our courses are carefully structured in a progressive manner and may build on content from the weeks before. By attending casually or partially you acknowledge you may have missed relevant content and may need to dance separately if this lack of knowledge is impacting the rest of the group. We do our best to support all dancers in the class but understandably cannot change content for those who have missed prior classes.

DanceIM reserves the right to ask dancers to dance separately from the group (or cease in extreme circumstances)  to ensure safety and suitability of the class. We do not guarantee approval of casual attendance - please contact us if planning on attending a class you have not attended before.

Respect: Treat fellow dancers, instructors, and staff with kindness and respect at all times. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and levels of experience, so it's important to create a supportive environment for all.

Punctuality: Arrive on time for classes and events. Being punctual shows respect for your fellow dancers and allows classes to start and end smoothly.

Communication: If you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to communicate with instructors or staff members in a polite and constructive manner. We are here to support your dance journey.

Hygiene: Maintain good personal hygiene and come to class with clean attire. This ensures a pleasant experience for everyone and promotes a healthy environment.

Safety: Prioritise safety during all dance activities. Follow instructor guidelines, warm-up properly, and listen to your body to prevent injuries. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to staff immediately.

Feedback: Be open to receiving feedback from instructors and peers. Constructive feedback is essential for growth as a dancer, so approach it with a positive attitude and a willingness to improve.

Attendance: Attend classes regularly and notify instructors in advance if you are unable to attend a scheduled class. Consistent attendance not only benefits your progress but also contributes to the overall energy and dynamics of the class.

We hold the right to refuse entry to anyone, or to request them to leave the premises at any time.
